Role Summary: The Facilities Manager oversees the overall maintenance, repair, and facilities operations at Boys and Girls Haven (BGH). This role combines leadership and hands-on work, ensuring that the facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Facilities Manager serves as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related concerns and ensures tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently to support the agency’s mission.
Core Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm; may include weekends or additional hours as necessary and on-call as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the Facilities Manager is exposed to a dynamic environment. This includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with regular exposure to various conditions such as heat, cold, noise, and potential hazards related to maintenance tasks (e.g., electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems).
The Facilities Manager will interact frequently with residents, staff members, board members, volunteers, service providers, and other members of the community. These interactions require professionalism, effective communication, and sensitivity to the needs of the population served.
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but may occasionally be high during certain maintenance activities or when using tools and machinery. The Facility Manager is expected to adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.

Essential Functions:
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Direct and supervise the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Technicians, contractors, and volunteers.
- Assign tasks and projects, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, training, and feedback to team members.
- Facilities Management:
- Oversee maintenance schedules and coordinate preventive maintenance for all buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and develop plans to address identified issues.
- Ensure all facilities comply with applicable laws, safety standards, licensing requirements, and building codes.
- Manage annual inspections to ensure compliance with state and OIG regulations.
- Project Oversight:
- Plan and manage maintenance projects, including repairs and renovations.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor/contractor bids as needed and oversee their work to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Fleet and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of the agency’s vehicle fleet, ensuring safety and functionality.
- Maintain a tracking system for fleet upkeep, inspections, and repairs.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget in collaboration with leadership.
- Monitor expenses, Brex (credit card spending), seek cost-effective solutions, and ensure proper use of resources.
- Groundskeeping and Landscaping:
- Ensure all grounds are well-maintained, including landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep.
- Organize and oversee volunteer events focused on groundskeeping and facility improvements.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the maintenance team and agency leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with service providers and vendors.
- Emergency Response:
- Be accessible for on-call emergencies and provide guidance during urgent situations.
- Ensure the team’s preparedness to respond to emergencies, including weather-related challenges.
- Team Contribution:
- Actively participate in hands-on maintenance tasks.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and proactive work environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or certifications in maintenance-related fields preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in general maintenance or facility upkeep, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Other: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
